BY THE СHUMAK WAYS
The unique history of the Ukrainian steppe south
This is "history in motion": each stop is like
a chapter. And the coastal points of the NNP provide both a "wow landscape" and
the discipline of access without harming nature.

Duration
8-9 hours

NATURE
Thematic zones
“Cossack Odesa” — starting frame
“Cossack Museum”
“Cossack Cemetery” — memory and ethics of the place
“Mizhlymannia” — local history and everyday life
“Kuialnyk and Salt” — access to the estuary through
the recreational areas of the National Park
“Taste and Hospitality” — lunch / interactive
"By the Chumak Ways" is a one-day bus trip following the traces of the salt trade and the Cossack presence in the region. We start with Cossack Odessa, then - the memory of the Cossack communities, the Mezhlymanny Museum, and the culmination - the exit to the Kuialnyk estuary. This makes the route comfortable and suitable for sustainable tourism (infrastructure, signs, toilets, shelters).
Tourist attraction — in the change of "scenery":
city → memory → village → estuary shore.
Educational value — in understanding how salt industries and the Chumash trade influenced
the economy of the South.

Evening/night experience on the coast of the Kuialnyk estuary: sunset over the water, legends of the Chumaks, astronomical observations through a telescope, the silence of the steppe and the romance of the night sky.
The main feature is observations right on the shore of the estuary: water + horizon + clear sky without the "light noise of the metropolis."
"Overnight stay with comfort" option - this premium option adds a romantic night on the shore of the estuary with a controlled level of comfort to the itinerary. This is not "wild camping", but an organized overnight stay in small groups with clear rules of silence, light and safety.

CYCLIST ON OXES – KUIALNYK'S CYCLING RING
Kuialnyk 360°: a full circle where time slows down

MOVEMENT
Thematic zones
"Southern Start" — resort/history of the estuary (Pirogov Sanatorium)
"Coastal Drive" — scenic sections of the coast
"North and Shadow" — forest/rest/night in Severynivka
"Severynivka"
"Eastern Shore" — quiet sections + return to the south
"Finish" — resort area
The route combines active recreation with nature tourism in a landscape that is rarely seen near a big city: salty coastlines, a "shell" of salt marshes, open horizons and the unique biota of the estuary. A full circle around the estuary: west → north → east → south
The tourist attraction is in the constant change of frame (coast → steppe → forest → eastern panoramas) and the feeling of "traveling in a circle".
The educational value is in explaining how salt landscapes shape the life of the region and why it is important to protect soils and plants.

Thematic zones
"Frame of Tradition" - Museum/Local History
"Grounding by the Water" - Quiet Walk and Contact with the Landscape on the Estuary
"Craft" - Creating a "Roadrunner" Charm
"Taste of the Region" - Tasting of Local Products
"Salt and Heritage" - History of Salt Industries + Modern Salt Products
A gentle, therapeutic route, where the tourist does not just “see the locations”, but through skills and impressions creates his own traveler’s amulet “Roadster” in craft practice. Next is the gastro-line: salt as the history of the region and wine/cheese/milk as the “taste of home”. The exit to the shore of the Kuialnyk estuary occurs only through the recommended recreational areas of the National Park, so that the tour is environmentally correct and suitable for the development of infrastructure.
Cultural value — in recreating the craft as part of southern life. Educational value — in explaining how salt landscapes shaped the region's economy and why NNP rules are important for preserving the coastal ecosystem.

NATURE

CONTENT
Thematic zones
Resort Morning (Pirogov Sanatorium)
Dam panorama: wide horizons, silhouettes, geometry
Coast minimalism: salt textures, details
Picnic aesthetics: shadow, flat lei, change of images
Final golden set
Lavender night: sunset + romantic overnight stay + dawn
(premium)
This is a “content expedition” for photos and Reels: clean shore lines, minimalistic salt marsh textures, dam panoramas and the branded point “Chumak Way.” Key photo stops are tied to recreational areas of the National Nature Park — this makes the route legal, logistically stable, and suitable for infrastructure development.
The route emphasizes the aesthetics of Kuialnyk: salty landscapes, coastlines and open horizons. The educational component is very light: the rules of the park and why they are important (do not trample the salt marsh, respect the birds, walk on the decks). This makes the tour “beautiful and correct.”
